How to invite a friend or colleague to AirRoster (and what you both get)

Every AirRoster member has a personal invite link and a short code on the Referrals screen. A friend or colleague who installs through the link is tied to the inviter automatically, on iPhone, Android and the web app. If the inviter is on AirRoster Pro, the friend gets 10% off their first Pro subscription and the inviter gets 30 days added to their own Pro when the friend pays. Free members can invite too: their link connects the two of them as friends in the app, but carries no discount and earns no days. (This is the AirRoster programme only. Wingman Pilot Logbook has its own, separate referral scheme with different credits; a Wingman code does nothing in AirRoster and the other way round.)

Steps

This is for AirRoster members on iPhone, Android or the web app. Anyone can invite. The 10% discount and the 30 days apply only when the inviter is on AirRoster Pro at the time the friend subscribes. Wingman Pilot Logbook has its own referral scheme; the two do not mix.

To invite a friend or colleague

  1. Open Profile, then Referrals. Your link and your code are both on this screen.

  2. Tap Share your link. A message is already written for you, with the link and your code at the end. Pick WhatsApp, a crew group, or wherever you like. Copy works too if you want to paste it yourself.

  3. That is all you do. When your friend installs through the link and signs up, AirRoster already knows you invited them.

To invite someone you want to share rosters with

  1. Open the Friends tab and tap Add your friends.
  2. Search for them. If they are not on AirRoster yet, tap Invite them under the search.
  3. The message names them and asks them to join so you can sync rosters. When they sign up, they get a friend request from you straight away. They decide whether to accept; nobody sees a roster without accepting.

What your friend sees

  1. They install AirRoster and sign up as normal.
  2. If the app could not link the install to your invite on its own, it asks How did you hear about AirRoster? Choosing A friend or colleague (referral code) shows a field for your code, which is in the message you sent. They can skip this step.

  3. Their Friends tab shows "[your name] invited you" with an Add friend button, unless you invited them from the Friends tab, in which case your request is already waiting for them.

  4. If you are on AirRoster Pro and they subscribe, their checkout shows "Referred by [your name]. 10% off applied." The moment their first payment goes through, 30 days are added to your Pro.

If you are on the free plan, your link still does everything above except the discount and the 30 days. The Referrals screen says so.

Frequently asked questions

Who can invite someone to AirRoster? Anyone with an AirRoster account, on iPhone, Android or the web app. Your link and code are under Profile, then Referrals.

What do we each get? If you are on AirRoster Pro when your friend subscribes, they get 10% off their first Pro payment and you get 30 days added to your Pro. If you are on the free plan, your link still connects you as friends in the app, but there is no discount and no extra days.

Do they need to type my code? Usually not. If they install through your link, AirRoster links the two of you automatically. If the app cannot tell, it asks them how they heard about AirRoster at signup, and your code is in the message you sent them.

What is the difference between inviting from Referrals and from the Friends tab? From the Friends tab, your friend gets a friend request from you the moment they sign up. From the Referrals screen, nothing is sent; their Friends tab shows "you invited them" with an Add friend button, and they choose. Either way, nobody sees a roster until the request is accepted.

When do I get the 30 days? On your friend's first successful Pro payment, whether they paid in the app, through the App Store or through Google Play. Once per friend.

My friend subscribed through the App Store. Do they still get 10% off? No. Store prices are fixed, so the 10% only applies to payments made in the app or on the web. You still get your 30 days.

Does the 10% combine with a launch offer or a promo code? No. Checkout applies whichever single discount is biggest and tells your friend which one that was. You are credited either way.

Two people invited me. Who gets the credit? The first one. The first invite recorded on your account stays for good; a second link or code does not replace it.

Can I refer myself or an existing account? No. Your own link does nothing for you, and an existing member who opens your link is offered to add you as a friend rather than being re-attributed.

I am a Wingman Pilot Logbook user. Does my Wingman code work here? No. Wingman and AirRoster have separate referral programmes.
