How to get an instructor to sign your logbook entry remotely
Pilots can get any logbook entry signed remotely by an instructor or examiner — through a shareable link and a public signing page, with no app install or login for the signer.
Steps
- Open the saved entry. In the Wingman app, open the flight or sim entry that needs a countersignature (Logbook → tap the entry).

Tap “Request Instructor Signature” on the entry screen. Wingman generates the secure signing link.
3. Share the link. The native share sheet opens — send it over WhatsApp,
iMessage, email, anything.
4. Your instructor opens the link on any phone or laptop — no app or
login needed — reviews the entry, and signs:

Done — the signature appears automatically. Once the instructor signs, the entry shows the signature in the app and in PDF exports.
Frequently asked questions
Does my instructor need the Wingman app or an account? No. The link opens a web page that works in any browser. They review the entry, type their name (optionally license number), draw their signature, done.
Is the signature valid for DGCA / eGCA purposes? The signature is stored with the signer's name, license number, timestamp and an audit trail, and appears in exported PDF logbooks exactly like an in-person signature. (Regulatory wording to be finalised by a human before publishing.)
How long is the link valid? 14 days. If it expires, request a new one from the same entry — two taps.
Can I send the same link to two instructors? No — the first signature closes it; a second opener sees “Already signed”.
What can the person I send it to see? Only that one entry's details and your name and license number — never your email or the rest of your logbook.
Can I cancel a link I've sent? Links expire after 14 days and die after one use. For immediate revocation, support can revoke it server-side (Django admin → Signature requests).
